Project 365 - January

One of my oldest internet friends (we're talking met in 1998) challenged me to do Project 365 this year - taking a picture a day EVERY day for a year. We both decided we were fine with doing it with our iPhones, because let's face it: taking a picture with our real cameras, editing them, and uploading them every day? Not going to happen. But with the iPhone, various photography apps and how dang easy it is to just shoot an email to Flickr and boom! the photo is online, that's do-able.

We both made it through January with no cheating, no missed days, no "oops it's 11pm and I haven't taken a picture yet" ... a picture a day for 31 days! With a trip to California for a half-marathon, a 5 year old going to Kindergarten, and a kinda big conference on the agenda for this fall - it's going to be a great year to have a picture a day!

See my good friend Jill's pictures here. She lives in Switzerland. How freakin' awesome is that?!

Out of hibernation

My goodness I have not blogged in so long it's embarrassing.  What did we miss .... Thanksgiving ... Christmas ... New Years .... hmmm, I don't think I'll even try to catch up on everything ... how about a high-level overview?

And you'll be glad to hear that one of my New Years goals is to blog more ... not for popularity, or comments, but for posterity.  :]  We do so much awesome stuff and the boys are at such a fun age, I want a record of this time to remember how life is right now.  And honestly, how sometimes un-awesome and un-fun life is ... because who wants to read a fakey-fake blog that is all sunshine and unicorns all the time?

So, what have we been up to the past few months? Here's the sewing edition:

I've been sewing baby blankets:

Dream On baby quilt

and teacher Christmas presents:

teacher gifts

and pillows for swaps:

Pillow Talk Swap 4 done - front

and mug rugs:

mug rug / potholder

and more pillows:

charity pillow

and handsewing hexagons:

A little handsewing

and always just playing with pretty fabrics:

fabric salad

and completing my collection of these pretties:

It's time to start doing something with this

There's been so much awesome stuff going on, I have so much to share with you.  I'll be back with more overviews tomorrow!
