And my California best friend is packing, getting ready to go on a Mexican cruise next week.
Even my internet best friend was just in gorgeous Puerto Rico last week, photoblogging and living the single life and traveling alone and having tons of fun.
Am I jealous? Well, a little. Let me just explain the cruel joke Utah's Mother Nature is playing on me: Around noon I look at our handy-dandy outdoor/indoor temperature/wind gust/moon phase/forecasting thing-a-ma-jig and see that it's a healthy 52 degrees outside. Not *too* awfully bad for a quick neighborhood stroll before naptime, if we wear sweatshirts and maybe take a blanket in the wagon. 52 degrees is do-able. Plus, the sun is shining and so that will keep us warm. So, Mason and I head upstairs to get socks and diaper changed and all that good stuff, and come back not 10 minutes later to find it's SNOWING outside. Blue sky, 52 degrees, snowing!
It was so random.
So we get all our gear off, and 10 minutes later it's a downpour. Huge raindrops, shattering-the-windows wind, black as night sky. So, we watch a quick episode of 'Signing Time' and then it's naptime. No sooner than I get Mase settled into bed with a stack of books (as his 'naptime' is really 'reading time') and it's blazing sunlight again - blue sky, white fluffy clouds, birds chirping just to spite me.
Again, so random.
The rest of the day was more of the same, the weather went from one extreme to another every 30 minutes. Marc said up at work it was the same deal. Weird.
I guess I can't complain too much, at this time last year I was packing and getting ready to go to Maui for 10 days. But that was last year, and a long ways away from the snow and rain and hail and sleet that we've had here this winter.
I promise this is the last time I'll complain about the winter. At least this year.
