Hi, I'm Erin. I've been at this blogging thing for quite awhile now, but have pretty recently gone "public". (See this post). I'm originally from Utah, but spent 8 glorious years living in beautiful, sunny, Southern California where I ate way too many fish tacos and spent too much time at Disneyland and baseball games. I like photography and doing crafty things -- when I'm not being too much of a perfectionist to finish them to my liking. I can cook semi-well, I am mediocre at keeping a clean house, but I kick butt at having fun with my son and playing the Wii. I like long walks on the beach -- wait, no, I HATE long walks on the beach. All that sand between my toes and in my shoes - yuck! I'll stick to long walks on smooth, paved trails and looking at the beach from a distance.

I'm married to Marc. He's smart, he's cute, he's funny -- he's, well, he's a little cranky if I don't put my shoes away and he trips over them when he leaves for work at 5:30 am (hey -- who's perfect?). He's a research geneticist, which to me means he talks and all I hear is this: "blah blah bloob lab blah blah blarg DNA blah blag studies bloo blah test launch date blah blee bloo". Just kidding, I understand about 50% of what he says. And that's after 8 years of marriage and learning to decipher his lab-speak. Marc is a simple guy and he likes: me, Mason, work, sleep and baseball. And eating. He lives and breathes Angels Baseball and is a die hard fan no matter if they're winning or losing. He misses living in California where he grew up, but he's putting up with living in Utah for now.

We have a son named Mason. Spend any time at this website and you're sure to see a gazillion pictures of him. Probably because he's cute and I like taking photographs of him and the cute things he does. He'll be two in August 2008 and I can't believe I have a full-fledged toddler already. Seems like he was just a chubby little infant wailing his chubby little fists around in fits of protest while I kissed his chubby little cheeks (seriously, this kid was a miniature Michelin Man -- SO chubby!). Now he's running around scaling the back of the couch and spewing the baseball player stats that his dad is teaching him.

That's about it for us. We also have a lazy old dog, a basset hound named Newton (Sir or Fig, your choice). He spends his days napping on the porch in the sun or trying to steal food off Masons plate. Mostly napping though. Once I calculated that he slept 23.5 hours out of the day.

Pretty basic. Two More Seconds! officially started in July of 2007, although as I said before I've been blogging since about 1999, at various places. I originally started this website as a way to keep in touch with friends and family in far away places, as it was right at the time we were moving from California to Utah. I still use this website to keep in touch with far-flung family and friends, but I also use it as a journal of sorts - posting things that interest me, funny things Mason does, what I'm into at the time, a sort of twentieth century family album scrapbook. It's called Two More Seconds! because punctuality just may not be one of my strongest traits - and Marc is always accusing me of yelling "two more seconds!!" when he's in the driveway with the engine running waiting on me. I use Blogger to publish and post my website - it's a great service for someone just starting out or learning how to blog. It's free and simple to use. I use it because I'm too lazy to self host right now.

I get a lot of questions and compliments about my pictures (I'm flattered, thank you so much.) My camera is a Sony DSC-H5. It's a step above a simple point and shoot, but it's not a full-fledged DSLR. Meaning -- I can tinker around with the aperture and ISO and stuff, without really having to know what any of those things are. I love The Pioneer Woman for her Photoshop actions and her photography tips. I edit 99.9% of my photos in Photoshop CS2 because I love rich, vibrant colors and very saturated imagery. I use and love Flickr for posting my photos. I am far, far from being a professional or even a decidedly good photographer - but I love taking pictures and encourage anyone interested in photography to just get out there and SHOOT!
